Brief Introduction of Perkumpulan Teochew Nusantara

Perkumpulan Teochew Nusantara is the first of Indonesia Teochew Federation. The association was established in 2015. In April 2016,  Perkumpulan Teochewn Nusantara (PTCN),  held its first of the Board Member inauguration. Mr. Eka Tjandranegara (曾國奎)  inaugurate as The President of the Association.

According to statistics, the Indonesian population is nearly 20 million, among them Teochew people accounted for two million to three million, lives at Indonesia Islandwide, most of them lived in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya. Perkumpulan Teochew Nusantara has provincial sub-branch which is around 19 branches. The Provincial branches established by a well- known Indonesia Teochew Entrepreneurs and respected local public figure. The branches located in Provincial, District, and Cities around Indonesia.

The establishment of Indonesia Teochew People is not smooth, They have existed since the Dutch Colonial Era, had experienced the independence of Indonesia, and  the time where the Chinese Community became the minority and the culture were completely banned. The

The development of the Indonesian tide group is not smooth, the tide from the Dutch colonial era exists, experienced the independence of Indonesia, to the Chinese community was completely banned. In 1998 followed by the democratic political reform, Teochew people began to reorganize. In 2011, few of respected Teochew People set up the Indonesia Teochew Association.The association mission is to unite Teochew people, friendship, preserve Teochew heritage and its traditional culture. Together, Teochew people build the networking and expand the contacts among Overseas Chinese People. Some of  Teochew leader commit to strengthening communication and cooperation. They also build a strong relationship with the Indonesian government and support the spirit of the Constitution of Indonesia in 1945. Teochew people promised to maintain national unity, national harmony, respect for the differences between cultures and contribute to the economic & business development.

Indonesia Teochew Association will be the community that global and move to a step forward. Building a solidarity and keep develop friendly relations.
